Healthy Lifestyle

It is enough to modify some habits to enjoy a full and healthy life. Some simple changes such as correcting your posture, changing your diet, cultivating your intellect or taking care of your emotions will lead to an improvement in your health chain.

Because health is the most profitable investment, we offer you the keys to try to enjoy a full life.

Take care of your body

The prevention and early detection of the disease are the two basic pillars to maintain the state of health. In addition to healthy lifestyle habits, vaccination is essential for prevention. With regard to early detection, regular check-ups are key: urological studies for prostate and gynaecological cancer for breast and cervical cancers, colonoscopies for colon cancer, spirometry for COPD, etc.

Remember Having a check-up is the investment that brings the greatest benefit, that of your health.

That position!

Back pain is one of the most widespread ailments and the easiest to prevent. Doing flexibility exercises with pilates or yoga and strengthen the abdominal and dorsolumbar muscles with swimming or in the gym are some small changes with which to prevent spinal diseases.

Remember. Take care of postural hygiene at work and do a minimum of 10 minutes a day of exercise: you will prevent back pain and gain in well-being.

Less plate and more shoe

Anyone who wants to gain in health, in addition to improving diet, should increase the amount of physical exercise. Having 5 meals a day, including a complete breakfast consisting of dairy products, fruits and whole grains and a light dinner, are not enough to be healthy: getting in shape helps us reduce cardiovascular risk factors, as well as acting as an emotional relaxant.

Remember. Practice sport regularly and set real goals: you’ll feel better.

Get enough sleep (and a little more)

We can’t live without sleep. In fact, getting enough sleep (7-8 hours) and good quality sleep is fundamental to maintaining a healthy life.

Remember If you sleep little or badly, the risk of some diseases increases and your quality of life decreases. Sleeping well is health!

Give it to play

It is confirmed: the most brain-active people are more protected against cognitive deterioration, which translates into well-being and prevention of diseases such as Alzheimer’s or dementia.

Remember Stay socially active, read books and newspapers, enjoy music and painting, learn to play an instrument or a new language, do hobbies… Give your brain a job and stop cognitive impairment!

Get wet!

Water is fundamental for the human body, both to help our organism recover that which is lost through urine, sweat or breath, and to carry out one of the most complete and recommended sports, in which all muscles, ligaments and tendons are worked on: swimming.

Remember. Never wait until you are thirsty to drink water (an average of 2 litres a day) and try to swim at least once a week: your body will thank you for it.

Reserve 5 minutes a day to relax

Although the best known risk factors (tobacco, cholesterol, hypertension) are an important part, it has been proven that psychological factors are also a trigger for numerous cardiovascular diseases such as stroke, angina pectoris or myocardial infarction.

Remember. Reduce stimulant substances and enjoy relaxing activities (music, breathing, gentle exercises such as tai chi): living without stress is the secret of a long and quality life.

Look at the sky every day

You may have noticed that your eyes dry out a lot the days you make continuous use of your computer or smartphone. This can damage them because it generates visual stress and even tired eyesight and myopia. The best advice to avoid this is to try to keep the screen at least 50 cm away and apply eye drops when your eyes are dry.

Remember. Take a short break from your screens every 2-3 hours, look at the sky or the horizon and blink frequently: you’ll gain in eye health.

Smile!

Positive emotions, such as joy, enthusiasm, satisfaction or pride, are a necessary source of well-being and quality of life and project a more attractive image of us, which favours other positive people wishing to approach us.

Remember. If you avoid smiling because you don’t like the look of your mouth, remedy it immediately with orthodontics, porcelain veneers or teeth whitening. Because if you laugh, you release the stress and anxiety and desire in physical and mental health immediately.

Love Yourself Very Much

To look good is to feel good. If you don’t like any part of your anatomy, follow the above nine tips: sport, balanced diet, stress management, and abandoning bad habits. In addition, dermatology and cosmetic surgery offer you a variety of solutions, both to correct and to improve (laser eye surgery, blepharoplasty, breast augmentation, etc.).

Remember. The elixir of eternal youth does not exist, but it is in your hand to delay aging and modify your image.

Why Include Probiotics in the Diet

Until recently, I barely ate probiotic foods beyond yogurt or pickles. But last year I rediscovered kombucha and got hooked on it for how well my digestive well-being has fared.

Also, these last few months, I have had to take antibiotics and it was the doctors themselves who recommended that I take probiotic supplements to prevent intestinal discomfort and new infections, since these drugs indiscriminately affect beneficial and pathogenic bacteria.

But what are probiotics really? The World Health Organization (WHO) defines them as “living microorganisms that, when consumed in adequate amounts, provide health benefits. They are, therefore, ‘friendly’ bacteria that help us to favourably modify the balance of our intestinal flora, inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria, promote good digestion and can strengthen the immune system.

In fact, it is easy to introduce probiotic foods into our diet. That’s why I want to share some of the tricks I use to eat them almost every day.

Fermented dairy products. Yoghurt, kefir, quark cheese… All of them are probiotic foods and, besides giving us all the benefits of dairy products, they have the particularity that they are easier to digest precisely because of the ferments they contain. I like yoghurt or kefir as a snack, combined with fruit, or as a dessert. Above all, after eating, as they fill me up a lot (I always buy whole dairy products). I eat quark cheese with toast at breakfast, spread over avocado, or mixed in salads. When choosing them, make sure that they only include milk and lactic ferments.
